Proteins are substances made up of smaller building blocks called amino acids. They also carry a positive or a negative electrical charge, and they move in fluid when placed in an electrical field. They do many things in the body, including the transport of nutrients, removal of toxins, control of metabolic processes, and defense against invaders.
