Celebrity Health Tips From Trainer Olivia Scott

It’s no secret that a lot of people choose this time of year to embark on a healthier lifestyle. But keeping those resolutions are oftentimes easier said than done. We asked trainer Olivia Scott to write a guest blog with tips she gives the celebrities she works with on what they should do prior to starting a new exercise regime! So, take it away Olivia…Celebrity Health Tips!

Celebrity Health Tips

It’s that time of year when most people make their New Year’s resolution to lose weight, workout more & eat better. For me,  I just want to be as healthy as can be. Since I’m in the fitness industry I regularly workout and eat right…with a few slips here & there but hey…it’s all about balance.

There are a few basic things that should be done when embarking on a new fitness regimen or getting back to one after some time off.

COMMITMENT

The first thing is commit to it…by this I mean scheduling your workouts as appointments not to be missed. Most of us make an in general resolution to “get healthy,” but never really go into detail how. Planning is key. Find the time and activity that works for you and will keep you consistent! Once you’ve created that commitment, it’ll be harder to blow off!

EAT HEALTHY

I know it’s easy to say and not so easy to accomplish. Spend time on the weekend preparing healthy food for the week. This makes it easier to stay on track and make smart food choices. Diet is 80% of it…you can’t out train a bad diet!

GET TESTED

I also recommend new clients get a baseline blood test. This test consists of CBC (complete blood count) test, lipid panel, Complete Metabolic Panel (CMP-14), Iron, Vitamin D 25-hydroxy & Urinalysis with complete microscopic examination. This is a great fitness assessment starting point to help you get the most out of your new fitness endeavor. Plus, you have to know where you are before you can make a plan for where you want to go.

A fitness panel is really useful if you’re hiring a trainer because that information can help design the optimal fitness program for you to get the results you’re looking for!

If you follow these three steps, not only will you manage to keep your resolution, but you’ll start seeing results. Nothing keeps you on track with fitness like seeing good results!
