Aids in the diagnosis of acute and chronic H pylori infections in patients with gastric and duodenal disease. Current studies suggest that H pylori IgM testing should be performed concomitantly with H pylori IgA and/or IgG tests for accurate diagnosis of Helicobacter pylori infection.
