What is the purpose of this test?

Order this Allergy Animal Group Panel Blood Test to measure IgE antibodies in the blood to detect an allergy to five types of farm animals. Animal allergies affect about 30% of the U.S. population, with allergies to household pets like cats and dogs being the most common. However, like household pets, farm animals such as chickens, cows, horses, geese, and mice may trigger allergic reactions in sensitized individuals. Allergies to farm animals are challenging for individuals who live or work on a farm. Determining the cause of allergies is the most effective way to help develop a treatment plan so that individuals can return to living and working comfortably.

What causes an allergic reaction to farm animals?

Similar to household pet allergies, allergies to farm animals are triggered by exposure to shedding hair, dander (dead skin cells), saliva, and waste. • Low blood pressure
• Extreme dizziness or loss of consciousness
