Preparation:

No fasting is required. Ship samples to lab Mon-Thu only. Avoid bentonite clay, castor oil, mineral oil, rectal suppositories. Wait 4 weeks after colonoscopy or barium enema. Wait 14 days after antibiotics, antifungals, beneficial flora supplements, or food products containing beneficial flora before beginning the test. Check with your physician before stopping any medications. Eat usual diet before stool collection.

Test Results:

7-10 business days once the lab receives the specimen. May take longer based on weather, holiday, or lab delays.
