The Melatonin Saliva Panel tests the levels of Melatonin, a hormone associated with sleep patterns. This panel is for evening specimen testing.
Melatonin is the primary hormone (and also functions as a neurotransmitter) associated with sleep patterns. A disruption in melatonin levels can manifest in a variety of sleep concerns including difficulty falling asleep, difficulty staying asleep and chronic insomnia.
Melatonin imbalances have been associated with a wide array of health problems, including:
