NeuroAdvanced Urine Profile - ZRT Test Kit
The NeuroAdvanced Profile tests neurotransmitters in patients with a suspected neurochemical imbalance which can help assess individual biochemistry and get to the root of persistent issues such as mood/affective disorders, adrenal dysfunction, addictive behaviors, ADD or OCD, or PMS or PMDD.
Description
The NeuroAdvanced Profile measurers neurotransmitters in individuals with a potential neurochemical imbalance. The test can help determine individual biochemistry and get to the root of chronic problems such as mood / affective disorders, adrenal dysfunction, addictive behaviors, ADD or OCD, or PMS or PMDD.
Neurotransmitters are chemical messengers that the nervous system uses to transfer information between nerves. An optimal balance of neurotransmitters is required to maintain proper health. Imbalances may cause over- or under-stimulation of the brain and body, causing neurological or psychological symptoms.
Genetics, the environment, chemicals, and dietary deficiencies are a few factors that can influence the development of neurotransmitters. The nervous system starts to compensate once it is out of balance which may lead to neurological or psychological over time.
Some of today's more common psychiatric disorders are considered to be accompanied by imbalances in neurotransmitters. It is also common, however, for individuals to present with identical symptoms but have unique foundational imbalances. Testing helps to understand these root issues.
This panel includes 5-hydroxyindole 3-acetic acid (5-HIAA), Glutamate (Glu), Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), Glycine (Gly), Dopamine (DA), Epinephrine (Epi), Norepinephrine (NE), Histamine (HIST), Serotonin (5-HT), Phenethylamine (PEA), 3,4-Dihydroxy-Phenylacetic Acid (DOPAC), Homovanillic acid (HVA), Normetanephrine (NMN), Vanillylmandelic acid (VMA), and Creatinine (Crtn).
Common causes of health issues linked to neurotransmitters often include the following scenarios:
Anxiety & Depression
Neurotransmitter imbalances are often correlated with anxiety and depression, especially Glutamate (panic attacks), PEA, Histamine, Serotonin, along with Epinephrine & Norepinephrine.
Chronic Fatigue
An imbalance between excitatory and inhibitory neurotransmitters can result in persistent fatigue.
Impulsivity
GABA, dopamine, and serotonin are three chemical messengers commonly associated with conditions such as ADD, ADHD & OCD.
Insomnia
Sleep disorders and insomnia are also associated with imbalances in glutamate, histamine, dopamine, GABA, and serotonin.
PMS or PMDD
In cases of PMDD (pre-menstrual dysphoric disorder) and extreme PMS, imbalances in serotonin, dopamine, norepinephrine, and GABA are common.
