What is the purpose of this test?

The TOXDetect Profile is designed to help healthcare practitioners identify harmful environmental toxicants that could be affecting your health. Environmental toxicants are chemicals and substances found in our surroundings that can be harmful to living beings. They can come from sources like industrial pollution, agricultural chemicals, and even everyday products like plastics. Many of these chemicals have not been thoroughly tested for their impact on human health, and exposure to them can contribute to a variety of chronic health issues.

This test helps identify exposure to these toxicants by measuring specific metabolites in the body. By understanding which toxicants you’ve been exposed to, healthcare providers can create a personalized treatment plan focused on detoxification and improving your overall well-being.

Note: The TOXDetect Profile includes Glyphosate testing. Results are provided in a separate report from the main TOXDetect Profile, so patients will receive two reports. Glyphosate does not need to be ordered separately.

The TOXDetect Profile includes the following analytes:

The TOXDetect Profile includes 27 analytes across the following exposure categories:

  • Phthalates (5 analytes):
Chemicals commonly used in plastics, personal care products, and packaging that may disrupt hormone balance.
  • Bisphenols (2 analytes):
Industrial chemicals (such as BPA and BPS) found in plastics and food linings that can mimic estrogen in the body.
  • Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) (7 analytes):
Includes exposure markers for compounds such as benzene, xylene, styrene, and ethylbenzene, which are found in fuels, paints, and industrial emissions.
  • Parabens (4 analytes):
Preservatives used in cosmetics, skincare products, and pharmaceuticals.
  • Pesticides (4 analytes):
Includes markers for exposure to compounds such as organophosphates, pyrethroids, and herbicides like 2,4-D.
  • Glyphosate (1 analyte):
A widely used herbicide found in agricultural and residential weed control products. Note: Reported separately from the main TOXDetect Profile.
  • Other Environmental Toxins (4 analytes):
Includes markers for compounds such as:
    • Triphenyl Phosphate (flame retardant)
    • Acrylamide (formed in cooked foods)
    • Perchlorate (industrial chemical)
    • Oxybenzone (UV filter in sunscreens)

Who might benefit from the TOXDetect Profile?

  • Individuals experiencing unexplained chronic symptoms or health issues.
  • People with known exposure to chemicals or pollutants in their home or workplace.
  • Patients with a history of heavy chemical use or occupation-related exposure.
  • Those with chronic conditions like autoimmune disorders, neurological issues, or hormonal imbalances.
  • Individuals interested in understanding the impact of environmental factors on their health.

Benefits of the TOXDetect Profile - Mosaic Diagnostics Test Kit:

  • Comprehensive Assessment: Measures exposure to 27 metabolites linked to various harmful environmental toxicants.
  • Personalized Treatment Plans: Helps healthcare practitioners develop tailored detoxification and healing strategies based on specific exposure patterns.
  • Early Detection: Identifies toxicant exposure that may contribute to chronic health conditions before they worsen.
