Wheat allergy is an allergic reaction to foods that contain wheat.  A reaction can occur when wheat is ingested or by inhaling wheat flour.  Wheat Allergy will sometimes get mistaken for celiac disease, but these conditions are quite different. In people with celiac disease, the protein gluten that is found in wheat causes an irregular immune system response.   Abstaining from wheat is the essential treatment for wheat allergy.
