What is the purpose of this test?
Order this Women's Health and Breast Profile, Saliva, to measure hormone levels in the body and detect an abnormal level or hormone imbalance. Also, this profile calculates two essential ratios: the Estrogen Quotient and the Progesterone (Pg)/Estradiol (E2) ratio. The Estrogen Quotient is a simple ratio of the cancer-protective E3 (Estriol) compared to the proliferative estrogens E1 (Estrone) and E2 (Estradiol) to assess breast cancer risk. The Pg/E2 ratio evaluates the relationship between estradiol, which can drive cellular proliferation, and progesterone, which reduces that growth and increases the likelihood of cellular differentiation.
Hormones are essential for supporting physical and mental health. Individuals often think of estrogen as a female hormone and testosterone as a male hormone. However, men and women produce both these hormones and others to maintain overall health. Thus, an imbalance of any hormone can cause a dysfunction of physical and mental health and may even cause serious health problems.
For many years the standard practice for hormone management was to prescribe hormone replacement therapy as if everyone required the same thing and the same amount. However, Doctor's Data does not believe individuals should accept the "one size fits all" approach regarding hormone management. Instead, Doctor's Data believes that hormones are similar to fingerprints, and to achieve optimal health, individuals need to know their specific imbalances. Therefore, Doctor's Data has developed the Women's Health and Breast Profile, Saliva, to help detect these specific hormonal imbalances.
