What is the purpose of this test?

Order this Daniel Plan #1 Blood Test Panel provides an overall health assessment to give individuals a baseline to judge progress throughout the Daniel Plan. In addition, individuals may use these results to guide them in making dietary and lifestyle changes to improve overall health and decrease the risk of heart disease, diabetes, and nutritional deficiencies.

The Daniel Plan #1 Blood Test Panel includes:

Lipid Panel:

  • Cholesterol, Total - A measurement used to assess heart health. Cholesterol is required by your body to build healthy cells, but high cholesterol levels can increase your risk of heart disease.
  • Triglycerides - Surplus fats that are transported in the bloodstream are also responsible for providing energy to the body.
  • HDL Cholesterol - High-density lipoproteins, or "good" cholesterol, take cholesterol away from the cells and transport it back to the liver for removal or processing.
  • LDL Cholesterol - Low-density lipoproteins (calculation), or "bad" cholesterol, contain the highest percentage of cholesterol and are responsible for depositing cholesterol on the artery walls.
  • VLDL Cholesterol - contains the highest amount of triglycerides. VLDL is a type of "bad cholesterol" because it helps cholesterol build up on the walls of arteries.

Glucose serum - The blood sugar level is the most direct test to screen for diabetes and is also used in diabetes management.

Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH) - Assists in diagnosing and monitoring thyroid disorders, hypothyroidism, and female infertility problems. It is occasionally used to help evaluate pituitary gland function.

Homocysteine - Helps diagnose vitamin B6 and B12 deficiency, as well as a folate deficiency, and to identify patients who may be at risk for heart disease or strokes.

Hemoglobin A1C - Evaluate glucose levels in the blood over the last 2 to 3 months. This test is essential in managing one’s diabetes.

Free T3 and Free T4 - Free T3 measures the blood's free, unbound triiodothyronine levels to screen for thyroid disorders. Free T4 is the active form of thyroxine and is thought to reflect more accurately thyroid hormone function.

Vitamin D 25-Hydroxy - Is often ordered for individuals with vitamin D deficiency symptoms. It may also be ordered before an individual begins osteoporosis drug therapy. Low levels may indicate a dietary deficiency, malabsorption, or lack of exposure to sunlight.

C-Reactive Protein (CRP) - This test determines whether a high or increasing amount of CRP in your blood suggests an acute infection or inflammation.

Thyroid Peroxidase Antibody(TPO) - Helps provide a differential diagnosis of hypothyroidism and thyroiditis.

Thyroid Antithyroglobulin Antibody (TAA) - A TAA blood test helps investigate the cause of enlarged thyroid glands (goiters). It can also be used as a follow-up evaluation when other thyroid tests, such as T3, T4, and TSH, show signs of thyroid dysfunction.

Testosterone Free (Direct) with Total Testosterone Serum Test - Evaluates hirsutism and masculinization in women; assesses testicular function in clinical states where the testosterone binding proteins may be altered.

Ferritin - Helps screen for an iron deficiency or overload that may cause severe health conditions.
