Chloride is an electrolyte that works with potassium, sodium, and carbon dioxide to assist in keeping the body's fluid levels regulated and to balance the body's acid-base.  

This test can monitor certain conditions such as:

Indications of a chloride imbalance may include the following:

  • excessive fatigue
  • high blood pressure
  • prolonged diarrhea
