The Viscosity test can determine if an individual has chronic or acute inflammation.  It can also aid in the diagnosis of cancers, infection or autoimmune disorders that lead to inflammation.  Hyperviscosity syndrome (HVS) is a combination of clinical signs and symptoms related to increased blood viscosity.

Symptoms relative to having this test performed:

  • Anemia
  • Sudden weight loss
  • Joint pain and stiffness
  • Neck and shoulder pain
  • Headaches

  Most commonly hyperviscosity syndrome (HVS) may be presented with the following:

  • Blurred vision
  • Dizziness
  • Headaches
  • Deafness
  • Double vision
  • Loss of bodily movements
  • Abnormal sensation, tingling or pricking (pens and needles)
  • Rapid, Involuntary movements of the eyes
