Parietal cell antibodies are proteins produced by the immune system, and falsely target a specific sort of cell that is along the wall of the stomach.  This test will assist in defining this type of antibody and help diagnose pernicious anemia.  Pernicious anemia is an autoimmune disorder that is caused by Vitamin B -12 inability to be absorbed.    For your body to produce a good amount of red blood cells, vitamin B-12 is vital.
